KGTC in Kamloops IS LOOKING FOR A COMPETitive COACH
Competitive Coaching Opportunity – KGTC Diving – Kamloops, BC, Canada
Position Description:
KGTC Diving is looking to add a Competitive Coach to our team starting in September of 2026. This
role will leverage your technical expertise, education, and experience to focus on talent identification
and driving the quality and growth of the competitive aspect of the program in age groups E, D and C.
Scope of Services Required:
The Competitive Coach is responsible for:
ï‚· Providing approximately 20 hours each week including practice planning, program planning,
equipment set-up & tear down and coaching services;
ï‚· Training times are typically Monday to Thursday 4:45-7:30pm and Sunday mornings from 9am-
1:00pm;
ï‚· Travel to competitions to support athlete and program development.
Reporting Relationship:
The Competitive Coach will work with the Head Coach and Program Director. KGTC has a governance
model with a non-operating Board of Directors making diving program decisions efficiently through our
clubs General Manager.
Program Administration:
The Competitive Coach is responsible for maintaining clear communication with the Head Coach and
Program Director regarding talent identification, athlete development, and progress against annual
plans. The role is not anticipated to participate in the day-to-day administration of the club or program.

KGTC Diving operates out of the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) located on the Thompson Rivers
University (TRU) campus in Kamloops, British Columbia. KGTC is a fixture in the community dating
back to 2007 and offers gymnastics and trampoline programs to approximately 3000 athletes each

Kamloops is in the interior of British Columbia and is known for affordable housing and rental market,
mild winters and warm summers while offering 4 distinct and beautiful seasons. World class outdoor
recreation is a reality including hiking, biking, and skiing at the Sun Peaks Resort just 45 minutes away.
Facility:
The TCC pool has two 1-meter boards, two 3-meter boards (new in 2025) and a 5m platform.

imagine | believe | achieveCurrent Diving Club Composition:
Diving was added to the KGTC programing in January of 2020 and demonstrated consistent growth
year-over-year. Our divers enjoy shared access to the equipment within the state-of-the-art gymnastics
and trampoline center.
Current diving programs are developed with the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model in
mind. We have an established CanDive lesson program offering approximately 200 registrations each
year and 5-7 talent identifications and invitations to participate in “Club” programs on average. The
CanDive program is supported by 3 dedicated and trained instructors.
Our “Club” programs include Learn to Train, Train to Train and Competitive groups offering
opportunities to participate in diving at the Novice and Junior Development National levels. The club is
anchored by approximately 28 members including several Novice National medalists, Junior
Development National medalists and an HPAD participant. The Competitive Coach would drive the
development of the top end of the program supported by the Head Coach and Program Director and a
dedicated Assistant Coach.

This role is positioned to enable flexibility within a fantastic location & community while growing the
competitive aspects of the KGTC Diving program. Additional opportunities include:

during the day, subject to education and credentials

Compensation:
The position could be contract or salary based and compensation will be in line with skills,
certifications, education, and level of experience. Competition Introduction or above is preferred.

Boardworks academy is looking for a coach/manager
Job summary
As a member of Boardworks Diving Academy, working with the Program Director, the Board and a team of part time diving coaches, the post-holder is responsible for but not exclusively in the following fields –
Primary delivery of coaching for divers working towards National Development and Elite Junior competitions. Identifying divers in the club feeder classes for inclusion in the competitive program.
Working with the program director and club part time coaches to deliver a high-class development program,
Working with funding partners to realise a world class talent identification program which identifies local
support of the club diving program, with specific focus on talent recruitment and development of 7-11 years.
Advise and support coaches delivering a pre-diving gymnastics program for 5–8-year-olds.
From time to time, the coach will be required to cover groups of divers at various levels from recreational to
international when coaches are absent.
Attend Training camps and competitions with Provincial and Nationally selected divers and disseminate best
practice and technical insights into the club to further develop quality coaching practices within Boardworks Diving academy.
Your responsibilities are:
To develop a team of coaches focussed on identifying talented young children from school talent program, the club pre-dive gymnastic program, and the club recreational program.
To prepare divers with detailed methodical physical and technical periodisation for open, provincial, national and international competitions as selected and those divers selected for assessment camps to perform at their maximum potential.
